Essential Tools for Calculus and Algebra Courses

calc.jpgI am finally finished! This last semester I completed my College Calculus I class (with an “A” might I add), which is my last math requirement for my major in Pharmacy. I don’t have to take anymore wretched math classes! Don’t get me wrong. There was a time when I enjoyed math … that was up until I enrolled in College Precalculus and Calculus I. There is one thing I learned from college math classes: Take a class with a few number of students. It sucks to be lost in a crowd. It’s much easier to get help when there are fewer people to compete with for the professor’s attention. I mean, my best math class was when I was the only student. Yeah, my high school was that small!

Looking back over my many years of higher learning in math, I can also think of a couple of tools that could have given me a better edge.

Extending the Battery Life of the Samsung “Blade” SPH-A900

a900.jpgI just got a Samsung “Blade” MM-A900 (and a 2-year service contract) from Sprint. (How I “bought” the phone is an amazing story of luck and savings. But, that’s a future article in this blog.) When I read a couple of the phone’s reviews in magazines and forums, I noticed a common complaint: the battery life sucks. The first day I used the phone I said to myself, “No Kidding!” I used up two of my bars in the first half of the day!

Investing Tip: Buy in the Bear Market

I’ve just finished two news articles (Google: Party Over and Google misses Street targets) on digg about the Google stock. If you remember, in 2004, the Google IPO was the hottest topic covered in the news Analysts predicted that the amount and the demand would multiply the IPO price significantly on the stock’s opening date. Everybody wanted to get of hold of some of the company’s shares. The starting price on NASDAQ was $85. By the end of the day, demand was so great that the price rose to more than $100. As speculated, Google was a stellar performer it gradually rose from the IPO $85 to $432 on Tuesday, January 31, 2006! The Google stock was definitely a winner
