Record and Save Streaming Media

Sometimes when I watch or listen to something online, I want to save the content on my computer. Usually, it takes more skill than right clicking the link and selecting “save target.” This is because it is usually “streamed media.” Streamed media is different from downloaded media. In downloaded media, you can use your browser to save the media file using the “save target” method mentioned above. With streamed media, you need a program that can negotiate different protocols.

Black Friday Part I: The Biggest Sale of the Year on the Day after Thanksgiving

Note: I’ve revised this article to a higher quality because of all the traffic it has been receiving lately.

Here in the United States, the biggest sale of the year seems to be the day after Thanksgiving, dubbed “Black Friday.”

The etymology of the name, “Black Friday,” has an interesting history. At the end of the year, companies often found themselves in “the red.” Their business ledgers showed negative profit. In a desperate to get in “the black,” an end-of-the-year profit, businesses staged huge sales the day after Thanksgiving to lure customers into buying for Christmas. Now, this practice of getting in the black is uncommon. Today, the sales are usually a social expectation for companies. Since society expects these sales, spending is doubled the day after Thanksgiving. Smart businesses will get a cut from this increased spending.

Do the Free iPods, PSPs, LCDs, HDTVs, Computers, etc Really Work?

You’ve just been eligible for a free ipod (or some other popular consumer electronic)! Ever hear this and wonder is it true? I mean there is no free lunch right? Correct! There is no free lunch and there is no free iPod. These eye catchers have a price. Most of the time, the price isn’t money. It is just a time, people, and credit cards. I heard this on The Screen Savers. Last time i checked, this is how the offers work. For timesaving purposes, i’m going to use the iPod as an example.
